Bonuses and Promotions are most important to Job Seekers

Employers offer many forms of rewards and enticements just to attract and retain the best talents and most hard working employees. They believe, and I believe that too, that the growth of the business in every respect depends on the quality of your working staff.

In view of this a survey was conducted to find out what exactly is important to job seekers or employees when it comes to rewards and recognition. This was conducted by Future Workplace, a research firm dedicated to rethinking and re-imagining the workplace, and Beyond, The Career Network.

They found that “while bonuses (80%) and promotions (70%) are most important to job seekers when it comes to rewards and recognition, top of the list for companies on rewarding and recognizing employees was recognition in front of their peers (68%), ahead of bonuses (63%) and promotions (59%)” -a post on Workplace Trends stated.

Employers would be happy to learn that recognizing employees in front of their peers isn’t motivating enough. You can easily lose your best employees to your competitor if he offers them better bonuses and opportunities for promotions. These are intrinsically linked to who we are as humans. We like to grow and advance in everything we do. Two of the ways we can do this in our career is through promotions and bonuses which we use to develop other aspects of our lives, financially.

Comment if you agree or disagree with findings of the survey, whether you are an active or passive job seeker. And share this post with your friends as well, if you found it educative.
